Fragmentos de un discurso amoroso
Priscilla Monge

“The lover’s discourse is today of an extreme solitude”, Roland Barthes.

A Lover’s Discourse: Fragments, a renowned book by Roland Barthes and also the title for the exhibition presented by artist Priscilla Monge at Galería Luis Adelantado. This exhibition circulates within a conceptual discourse with very diverse formal results ranging from photography and installation to performance. From her own point of view, Priscilla Monge tries to explore and rescue the love discourse. As an artist she finds hreself in the role of the lover who tries to persuade, to know how to induce love through words, images and art. It is not new in her work to use the relationship between opposites: life / death, dominator / dominated, victim / victimizer, causing a certain uneasiness in the viewer.
